We noticed the G. O. V. was well represented by the traditional long-eared animal which formed part of the proeeu-siou from Malta to the republican rally at DeKaib on Satnrday. Sack animal being transported in wagon and guarded by a ferocious canine.

Among the noteworthy features were a flag drill by sixteen i primary pupils, a recitation, "Christopher Columbus," by Eda Heeg, a dialogue by eight intermediate girls, singing of the national songs by the schools, and several tableaux, among which were "Liberty Enlightening the World," "Peace" and the 4 states with the Goddess of Liberty. vThe hall was literally packed and all seemed to fully appreciate and enjoy the entertainment which commemorated the praiseworthy deeds of Columbus.
