Charles Eckman, Crystal Lake on Aug. 10, 1985 at St. Mary's Church of Huntley. The Rev. Eugene Parker officiated the 2 p.m.

A reception was held at John Evans Inn in Crystal Lake, followed by a honeymoon to Hawaii, where the couple visited three Islands. After the ceremony, the bride and groom rode in the carriage to the home of the bride's parents on Highland Lake for an afternoon party. Afterwards, the couple rode in a chauffeur-driven limousine to an evening reception at the Tower Room in Antioch.

The bride chose as her maid of honor, Kelli Ann Kirchhardt, Grayslake, and serving as matron of honor was Kristine Ann Johnson, Algonquin, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Ann Kirchhardt, sister of the bride, Sandra Vanderstappen, sister of the groom, Deborah Brzezinski, Christine Gossman, Theresa Christofferson and Karen Hart. Flower girl was Leanne Skuse, whose dress was designed and made by the bride. Serving as best man was Tom Siedlecki, Grayslake.
