Tips for Selecting a Headstone Written by Janice Smallwood SM-PR1914670 OBITUARIES Eleanor Louise (West) Sapp, age 96, passed away at Liberty Village at 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Liberty Village in Princeton.

Eleanor was born on March 5, 1925 to Harry and Elsa (Larson) West in Princeton Township. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and an infant son. Her sister Harriet Bronson of Peoria survives. She married Robert D. Sapp on March 24, 1945 he died on August 9, 1998, they were married 53 years.

The couple had three children: Robert Kent born on April 26, 1947. Sadly he died on May 24, 1947. Surviving is Sherry Louise Sapp (Terry DeSalle) born on December 1, 1948 and Stewart Olin Sapp (Rebecca) born July 8, 1951. Grandchildren include Jennifer DeSalle Hunt (Dan), Shannon Sapp Killion (Jason), Brian DeSalle (Valerie), and Courtney Sapp Ludvigson (Hudson). Great-grandchildren include Thomas and Anna Marie DeSalle, Kyle and Kyra Killion, and Carver and Bronwyn Ludvigson.

Eleanor attended Providence and Tiskilwa Grade Schools and graduated from Tiskilwa High School. She later attended Business School in Kewanee, IL. Eleanor went on to work at Kewanee Boiler and much later at Sears in Princeton. Eleanor was very talented as a seamstress and gifted at cross stitch, crocheting, knitting and craft painting. She was a member of the Tiskilwa Historical Society, The Hampshire Colony Congre- gational Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She will be missed. A visitation will be held Saturday, Sep- tember 4, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, following the visitation, at Grant-John- son Funeral Home, Princeton with Pastor Michael Freeman officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet, Illinois.

(WEST) SAPP Born: March 5, 1925 Died: August 31, 2021 Joseph Carroll Alvey, 82, of Mammoth Spring, AR, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. Joseph was born March 19, 1939 in Union County, KY, to Charles Henry and Emma Sue Girten Alvey.

He married Bar- bara Plauck (LaForce). He later remarried to Celia Acain on October 8, 2005. He is survived by four daughters, Angel (Mark) Allen of Crystal Lake, IL, Carol (William) Behrens of Islip, NY, Barb (David) Sherbeyn of Moline, IL, and Erin (Bill) Liming of Gridley, IL; three brothers, James Alvey of LeRoy, IL, Jerry Alvey of Apache Junction, AZ, and Eddie Alvey of West Plaines, MO; two sisters, Nancy Peterson of OR, and Mary Sue Mixon of CA; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Tommy; and one sister, Evelyn. Joseph served in the U.

S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960. He was a member of the American Legion in Arkansas. He was big into giving and sponsored children overseas. He was a truck driver and worked for GATX for most of his life.

The program is a lively musical look at migrant workers along the Mississippi River in the early 20th century.
