27 BUREAU CO UNTY REPUBLICAN Bureau County Republican Shaw Local.com 19,2022 Steven D. Malmberg, age 72, of Dixon died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home of natural causes. He was born on April 7, 1950 in Princeton, IL the son of Harvey and Leona (Gramer) Malmberg. Steve was a veteran of the US Army serving in Viet- nam. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dennis, Nels and Archie Malmberg.

He is survived by his children Logan Malmberg (Rachael Corn- well) with a grandson on the way and Lindsay Malmberg, all of Dixon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law JoAnn Malmberg of Dixon, nephew Douglas (Jessica) Malmberg of Sterling, nieces Heidi (Brent) Schmall of Deer Grove and Juliet Malmberg-Finch of Texas, and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Janet Malmberg, of Dixon. Steve began his career as a heavy equip- ment operator and truck driver. He was em- ployed by Schwerman Trucking in the 1970s prior to becoming an of Malmberg Trucking.

He also worked for sev- eral local companies including Pratt Farms, Charlie Lawrence Trucking, Dabney Trucking, Whatever Inc. Trucking, Landscape Supply, Nutrien, and received an award for years of service from Ace Doran Hauling Rigging Co. Steve was a free spirit, avid boater, and of the pontoon and S.S. Recy- cler. He enjoyed spending time with friends, playing a good round of golf, and always loved a great joke.

You might find him in the backyard grilling a steak or burger for his Trip. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Jones Funeral Home as well. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. The celebration of his life will continue at The Last Stop in Dixon with refreshments immediately following events.

MALMBERG Born: April 7, 1950 in Princeton, IL Died: November 13, 2022 Lucy Kay Galloway, 36 day old daughter of Barrett and Renae (Molln) Galloway, passed away Wednesday November 16, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery, Arlington with Father Thadeus Tran officiating. Lucy is survived by her parents of LaMoille; her brother Louis Galloway; her maternal grandparents Eldon and Jackie Molln of Ohio, Illinois; her paternal grandparents Bruce and Wanda Galloway of LaMoille; her great grandparents Bruce and Nancy Beattie of LaMoille and Ruth Molln of Ohio, Illinois and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister Lilly on October 25, 2022. Memorials may be directed to the family. Conner, 62, of Walnut, and formerly of Ohio, died on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Grand View Care Cen- ter in Peoria.

Mendy was born on January 13, 1960, in Kewanee, the daughter of Larry and Judith (Tuttle) Wilcoxen. Mendy was a 1978 graduate of Walnut High School. She married Steven Conner on June 12, 1982, in Walnut. Mendy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ohio, as well as the Green River County Club of Walnut. She was employed at Avanti Foods for 21 years, prior to retirement in 2018.

She also worked at Citizens First State Bank of Walnut for 16 years and served as the Ohio Township Clerk for 8 years. Mendy enjoyed bowling and golfing. Survivors include her mother, Judy Wilcoxen; husband, Steve Conner, both of Walnut; one brother, Ken (Sally) Wilcoxen of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Lori Wilkinson, of Walnut. Mendy was preceded in death by her father. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Private family services will be held with interment at Walnut Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, me- morials may be made to Heritage Health of Walnut, or a charity of your choice. Piper, 73, passed away on Thursday, Novem- ber 10, 2022. Dave, was born on April 5, 1949 to the late Harlan and Beverly (Esterday) Piper in Princeton, IL. He was a graduate of the Princ- eton High School Class of 1967. He worked at Eagle Food Stores and Dynegy Energy for many years before retirement. He was a loyal Chicago White Sox fan and was voted one of their Most Valuable Fans during the Old Comiskey Park Era.

He was a Music Historian and an avid Blues, Rock Roll man. One of his favorite things to do was see and attend live performances. He was a collector of all things that might be collect- ible antiques and sports memorabilia being some of his favorites. Dave was a happy person, always willing to share a smile or a story from back in the day. He was a who had never met a stranger without striking a conversation.

He was a friend to many and a man of his word. Laughter being a part of his life, there was not a good joke or funny story he was ever at a loss to share. He is survived by his loving son, longtime girlfriend, sister, brother in-laws as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dave also had many special friends that came to see him in his final days and friends from his childhood, school, sports, work history, and adulthood. Preceded in death by his loving parents, Harlan and Beverly Piper.

At request, there will be a tion of held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Ye Olde Underground Inn, 219 South 6th Street, Princeton, IL 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with Pastor Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Live music to follow. Cremation rites accorded, private burial to be held at a later date.
